Biography

Henry was born on 14 December 1822, the son of Rev. J. R. Wollaston. He came to Western Australia on the Janet, arriving on 30 April 1843.[1]

MARRIED. On the 8th instant, at Northam, by the Rev. John R. Wollaston.M.A., Henry Newton Wollaston, Esq., Surgeon, of Wilberforce, York, to Susannah, second daughter of John Sewell, Esq , of Mokine, Northam.[2]

He practised as a surgeon at York in July 1844 then to Picton briefly in charge of his father's property, when the latter went to Albany in 1848. Henry was a Medical Attendant in Albany in 1848 and bought a Town Lot there in 1850. He was appointed visiting surgeon at Albany Convict Depot in October 1851. He visited Victoria and returned on 12 November 1852 and departed with his wife on 25 November 1852 per Chusan. Henry was ordained, and served as a clergyman in Victoria.[1]
