Life-Sketch
Frans Matthys Wolhuter (b7c5d3), born to Frans Matthys [Snr] & Johanna Helena Catharina Wolhuter on the 1st April 1846. He was Baptised on the 3rd May 1846. On the 7th August 1879 he married Dorothea Anna Botha, eldest daughter of Phillip Rudolf Botha & Johanna Jacoba Vermaak. Started out as a Diamond Digger in Kimberley and later founded the Wolhuter-Mine, Witwatersrand, Transvaal. Frans [Jnr] died on the 1st January 1903 at the age of 57 and was buried in the Voortrekker Cemetry, Pietermaritzburg, Natal. Added by Christine (Wolhuter) Schwarz 07 March 2021
