HENRY built a home at East Windsor, now South Windsor, a mile south of the present meeting house. It was later rebuilt using material from the original home, andwas the longest standing of the early Wolcott homes. It was still occupied by his decendants in 1810. In 1713, a committee from Windsor laid out a settlement at Tolland, Connecticut, naming it after the Wolcott's home in England. Two of the 17 lots were given to Henry, and one to his brother, Simon. A petition to recognize the town was signed by Roger Wolcott, Charles Wolcott, Henry Wolcott, and others. In 1715, land at Tolland was deeded to 51 persons, including Henry and Simon Wolcott. Henry's will, dated 1740, leaves his land at Colbrook, Wellington, and Windsor, and land called "The Equivalent", to his son, Henry. His 400 acres at Tolland on the Coventry town line was left to the children of his son, Thomas; 13 each to his grandsons, Thomas and Luke, and the remaining 1/3 to be divided among their sisters, with their father to have the use for life of that portion of the land that he had enclosed. To his son, Gideon, he left the house and lot at Windsor that he had bought from his brother, Simon, and where he lived at the time of his death. To his grandson, Giles, he left 300 acres of land at Windsor. To his daughter, Rachel, he left 50L and two black servants named Philehas and Scipio. The remainder of his estate was to be divided between Henry, Thomas, Gideon, Rachel, and Giles. His estate was valued at 447L. [citation needed].
