Biography

J.P. Pembrokeshire from 1564, sheriff 1566-7, 1571-2; sheriff, Card. 1563-4.

Sir John Wogan was born in 1538 and was the first son of Richard Wogan of Wiston by Elizabeth, daughter of Sir Thomas Gamage of Coity, Glamorgan.

He married Cecilia, daughter of Sir Edward Carne of Ewenny priory, Glamorgan, on 24 Aug 1557.

John passed away in 1580, and is buried at St. Mary Churchyard, Wiston, Pembrokeshire.
