Biography

Sir Walter Wogan married Margaret, daughter & heir of Sir Adam Staunton.^[1]

Their grandson Mathew Wogan married Alice Malephant.^[2]

Research Notes

Birth "about 1135" was changed to "about 1275", as the Walter who married Margred Stanton is marked as living in 1298 on the Bartrum Chart.^[1] Bartrum's chart for his grandson Mathew (son of Thomas) notes that he was living 1334-86 and that John - Mathew's son by Alice Malephant - died in 1419.^[2]

Note: The dates just given from Bartrum chart are the corrected dates. Bartrum's chart for his son Mathew has a lot of corrections, including date corrections for Mathew's son John (m Joan Picton) and John's son John (Mathew's grandson) who married Agnes, daughter of Wilcock Wiriot.^[2]

Gwalter, the son of Gwgan and Gwenllian, is this Walter's grandfather.^[1]
