Research Notes

His biography posted by History of Parliament Online says that he was "a great-nephew of the regicide Thomas Wogan".[1]

Colonel Thomas Wogan, the regicide, was the third son of Sir John Wogan and his wife Jane Colclough. John was the son of William Wogan (abt.1560-1625).[2]

He was also "heir to the Wiston branch of the family, but Wiston Castle, their ancient seat, had already been leased out in his father’s lifetime and was now 'uninhabited and much out of repair'." See his biography posted at History of Parliament Online for additional information.[1]
