Death Summons Jessie Winslow Descendant of Mayflower Settlers Succumbs at Davenport Hospital. (Journal News Service) West Liberty - - Mis Jessie Winslow, a direct descendant of one of the Mayflower settlers, died at 3 a.m. today in Mercy hospital, Davenport, where she had been a patient for the past several months.
Born in July, 1867, at West Liberty, miss Winslow lived here her entire life with the exception of several ears sent in California. Her parents, John and Josephine Winslow, died when she was but a child and the girl was adopted by John and Flora Evans.
She had been a member of the P.E.O. since 1894.
Surviving are three nieces, Mrs. Vern Barstow of Lemon Grove, Calif.; Mrs Blanche Trzinske of Miles City, Mont.; and Miss Dorothy Winslow of Long Beach, Calif.; and one foster brother, Fred Evans of Chihcago. Her only brother Stephen, died at La Mar, Mo., in 1902.
The body is at the S.C. Snider Funeral home and will remain there for funeral services to be conducted Monday at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in Oak ridge cemetery. 1 Feb 1936 (handwritten date)
