Biography

Fuller Wing was born about 1797. He was the son of Joseph Wing, Jr. and Martha Clark.

Hello Steve,

I have amassed quite a bit of information with another researcher [Nancy Wing Horning] that I would like to contribute towards Fuller Wing Sr.'s profile, but I'm hesitant to update anything before I confer with you first.

Our line is presumed to start with Benjamin Wing & Betsey Ormsby (DOBs unknown). Reference to them can be found in The Owl, Volumes 6-8, page 412, "...His name was Fuller Wing, Jr., born in Mexico, N.Y., and he married Julia Sideman. His father was Fuller Wing of Mexico, N.Y., who married Sarah Bailey, and his grandfather was Benjamin Wing, who married an Ormsby". I know nothing further of Benjamin Wing or Betsey Ormsby. They are a complete enigma! But, I have managed to piece together 10 out of 14 of Fuller Wing Sr.'s children; as well as 5 of his siblings. And we are attempting to utilize DNA to further develop this family, which appears to have genetic ties to Jabez Wing & Anna Hoxie Wing.

I believe based on geographical proximity, primary source citation and a strong genetic connection to their descendants that Fuller Wing's siblings were: Chauncey Wing (1802 - 1847) who married Susan Rice; Benjamin L. Wing (c. 1804 - 12 Sep 1857) who married Polly Westcott; Joseph Wing (c. 1805 - c. 1852) who married Rosannah Seamans; Betsey Wing (15 May 1807 - 19 Jun 1880) who married Gad Morton Jr.; Mary C. Wing (17 Dec 1809 - 12 Dec 1893) who married Asa Westcott.

Fuller Wing Sr. & Sarah Bailey's known children (10 out of 14) were: Reuben Alonzo Wing (1821 - 1910) who married Amanda Crane & Lorinda Hawkins; Lois Wing (1824 - 1907) who married Thomas Prince; William Wing (c. 1826 - ?) who married Margaret & Alvira Bailey; Maria Wing (c. 1828 - 1872) who married Horace Richardson; James Wing (c. 1830 - ?) who married Athalinda Campbell; Lucinda Wing (c. 1836 - 1906) who married Oliver Houghtaling & Thomas Sedwick; Franklin Wing (c. 1839 - 1914) who married Mary Rider; Hannah (c. 1841 - ?) ; Fathuza Orissa (1842 - 1928) who married Bailey Barrows & Samuel Dawley; Fuller Wing Jr. (1845 - 1928) who married Julia Sideman;
