Mary Ann was born about 1802. She passed away in 1866.^[1][2]

Research Notes

The original information from this record appears to have come from Find A Grave^[1] which has the comment by the contributor "I am not sure of her maiden name it could be either Wing or Loring. I have never been able to ascertain who her parents are."

Family Search tuns up three records of a marriage for Mary to Edward Doubleday in the month of June in Attleborough, Norfolk.

Edward Doubleday was married to Mary Loring at Attleborough, Norfolk, England on the 2nd of June, 1821.^[3] According to another researcher this is a mis-transcription. Enquiries are in progress with Family Search.

Edward Doubleday was married to Mary Wing at Attleborough, Norfolk, England on the 17th of June, 1821.^[4]

Edward Doubleday was married to Mary Wing at Attleborough, Norfolk, England on the 2nd of June, 1821.^[5]

Note from the sources below that the first two records are System Origin: England-EASy thus are factual records extracted from the locality and the third record is System Origin: England-ODM - a record from the Ordinances database which due to the nature and origin of such records may not be valid.

It is easy to see from these three records where the confusion has arisen on Find A Grave. Clearly there are two Edward Doubledays who both married a Mary. In fact there are at least 2 other Edwards who have married a Mary in Norfolk around the same time period.

Clearly at present it has to uncertain if this Mary is actually Mary Wing or Mary Loring.
