Lois Wing was born on May 21, 1821 in St. Albans, Somerset, Maine, United States, daughter of William Wing (1789–1860) and Lois Raymond (1793–1845).

Lois married William Lowell Maxim on Apr 5, 1841 in Wayne, Kennebec. Their known children were:
