1st Lieutenant Robert Wilson was Killed in Action when the bomber Wongo Wongo crashed off of the Greek island of Corfu during World War II.
He was born in 1920 in Washington DC. His parents were Harvey O Wilson.
He married Mary Jeanne and had a daughter Pamela Jeanne that he had never met.
He passed away on 1 August 1943 when the B-24 Bomber, 'Wongo Wongo', crashed into the ocean off the Greek island of Corfu. Wongo Wongo was the lead bomber of Operation Tidal Wave a low level bombing mission against the oil refineries at Ploesti, Romania. Robert was the lead navigator for the mission.
