Hi!

Just checking in with a few quick tips:

Free Space pages are wiki pages for supplementing your family history. They can be used to profile anything of significance such as a special pet, a meaningful event, a school you attended, a family heirloom .... They're "anything pages".

Not sure what to include in a profile? Check out our Biography Ideas and and Standards help pages.

Lastly, sometimes you'll run into unresponsive profile managers. We have a process for resolving those unfortunate situations.

If you have any questions, please ask!

Hi!

Our vision is to build a collaborative tree with one profile per person. The farther back you go, it's likely you will find duplicate profiles to link into, so it's a good idea to do a search before you create a new profile.

Do you have Royal Ancestors? If so, they are already here! Please contact the EuroAristo Project to discuss connecting your family line to their already existing profiles.

WikiTree strives to be a fun, collaborative, productive site. It's also different than what many people are used to. Please take advantage of the Help Menu in the upper right hand corner, our G2G Forum and of course, our Mentors :)

Do you have any questions I can help with?

Eowyn ~ Mentor/Team Member

I wanted to take a second to welcome you to the WikiTree family and thank you for volunteering! You are now a confirmed member.

If you already have or you are planning to upload a GEDCOM, you might want to check out Importing GEDCOMS Keep in mind that our primary vision is to build a collaborative tree with just one profile per person, so please make sure to look for duplicates on WikiTree before adding a profile. Our Mentor Team are a friendly bunch of volunteers who will be glad to help you with specific problems if you have any.

As previously stated, my folks come from Dade County, MO. That is the one place I am confident enough to provide some help with. Other places my ancestors come from, though I am less proficient with, include Monroe Co, TN, Monroe Co, KY, Logan Co, KY, Lawrence Co, KY, Polk Co, MO, Washington Co, AR, and all over North Carolina, Virginia, New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut. I am looking forward to uploading more data once I am confirmed.

Please Read:

Hello, You clicked on the volunteer button indicating that you would like to collaborate and add information. If that’s correct please leave a comment here on your profile, about how you intend to contribute.

If you would like a few days to decide, that is fine as well - leave a message when you’re ready. If you are just looking for family or other researchers working on the same names as yours, you are welcome to do this as a guest.

I have bee working on my family history for over 30 years. I have a lot of people in my GEDCOM, but I am hesitant about sharing it all as too much of the data is suspect. I am happy to manually upload my direct line over time, and see where I connect with everybody. I lay no claim to being an expert at anything, but my ancestors are all from Dade County, MO, and surrounding areas, and some were there before the county existed. I am happy to help folks with Dade County, MO connections all I can. I am an OTR truck driver by trade, so time for research is very limited, but I am happy to help where I can. My primary surnames are Wilson, Fox, Taylor, Stephens, Preston, Hembree, Finley, VanOsdell (Van Arsdale), McLemore, Brown, Neill, and Mayfield.
