John Henry Wilmott was born in late 1880 in Kings Norton, Worcestershire, England, United Kingdom. He was the son of John Henry Wilmott and Julia Fahey. [1] His family later moved to Cardiff, in Glamorgan, Wales. [2]
He migrated to Western Australia, Australia.
John married Clarice Thompson in 1912 in North Perth, Western Australia. [3] They made their home in North Perth, where they had a daughter and two sons. Sadly, Clarice passed away in 1919.
John married a second time, to Lillian Millard on 2nd July 1923 in St John's Church, West Perth. [4] The West Australian published the following brief notice of the wedding on 14th July: [5]
John's firstborn, daughter Bessie, was one of the Australian nurses murdered by Japanese soldiers on Bangka Island in the Netherlands East Indies (Indonesia) in February 1942.
Aged 77 years, John passed away in 1957 in Leederville, Western Australia. [6]
