Biography

Harry Willows was born on 17 June 1890 (Registered September 1890) Stoke, Nottinghamshire, England [1], the son of George Willows and Jane Lee and the brother of Mary Jane Willows, George Willows, Robert Lee Willows, Caroline Willows, Percy Willows and Victor Willows [2][3].

He married Myra (Dot) Salkeld on 7 October 1919 in Lismore, New South Wales, Australia [4][5] and they were the parents of Edna May Willows, Bonnie Jean Willows, Henry George Willows, William Victor Willows, John Frederick Willows and Arthur Willows,

Harry died on 18 July 1979 at Woodburn, New South Wales, Australia [6] and he was buried in the Evans Head Cemetery, Evans Head, New South Wales, Australia [7].

    WILLOWS—SALKELD. St. Mark's, Nimbin, on Tuesday, 7th October, was the scene of a very quiet but pretty wedding, when Myra, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Salkeld, of Blue Knob, was married to Harry, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Willows of Nottingham, England. The Rev. A. G. Moore officiated.
    The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a pretty frock of white Oriental satin, trimmed with fine lace, deep swathed belt, also the customary wreath and veil, and she carried a beautiful bouquet tied with the bridegroom's colors, which, with a gold expanding wristlet watch, was her gift from the bridegroom.
    The chief bridesmaid was Miss L. Salkeld (sister of the bride), who wore a becoming dress of pale blue crepe de chine, trimmed with lace, also a cream m0b cap. Miss Ethel Smith (second bridesmaid). wore blue crepe de chine, trimmed with lace, and swathed belt, also a mob cap of cream lace.
    The bridegroom's gifts to them were gold circle brooches. Mr. Jack Salkeld (brother of the bride) acted as best man. The bride's gift to the bridegroom was a set of military brushes. Miss Cullen presided at the organ.
    Subsequently a wedding breakfast was served at the Australian Boarding House. The honeymoon was spent in Brisbane, the bride travelling in a pretty frock of blue crepe de chine and hat to match
