Biography

James Willis is a part of US Black heritage.

Son of James W Willis and Myrtice Williams.

James was the eldest of eight children.

Aged 7 in 1950.^[1]

He was educated in McDonough, Georgia and graduated from Henry County Training School.

James accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of Shoal Creek Baptist Church in Locust Grove, Georgia.

James moved to Cleveland, Ohio in 1961 where he met Carolyn Mitchell and they were united in holy matrimony on December 29, 1962. To this union, two children were born. Later in life two children were adopted. They shared 49 years of marriage before Carolyn preceded him in death.

James first job in Cleveland was as a sanitation worker for the City of Euclid. Shortly, thereafter he found employment with the United States Postal Service. He remained with the post office for 35 years retiring as a manager of Noble Shore station in 2002.

James loved to bowl and had several 300 game rings under his belt. His other love was cooking and traveling to visit his family whom he had great love for. He also had a passion for Cadillacs and Corvettes.

James was a father figure to many, especially his grandchildren who spent countless hours with him.

His parents and one brother, Charles Bernard Willis and sister, Margaret McDaniel preceded him in death.
