Biography

Balthazar was born about 1570. Balthazar Willech ... He passed away in 1599. [1]

"The Will of Balthasar Willick of Alford, 7 February 1698 [1598/9]. To be buried in the church of Alford. To Anne my wife for the good and vertuous education of my children the lease of one messuage in Alford wherein Willyam Brockbancke lately dwelt, which I had from my Lord Willoughby of Willoughby and Earsby for twenty-one years ; also the lease of one other messuage in Alford late in the tenure of Richard hornsey or his assigns, which I also had from my said Lord Willoughby for twenty-one years ; also all my other leases, bonds, and assurances to my sayd wife for the good bringing up of my sayd children, together with all my stock and moveables, save that I give to Mr. Francis Merburie for the good will which I beare unto him my best gowne. Anne my wife, executrix. Witnesses : Robert Wight, Lenord Thory, Willm. Bellingham. Proved at Lincoln 15 February 1598 [1598/9]. (Consistory of Lincoln, 1598, fo. 200.)"[2]

  1. 1593 Peregrinus filius Balthasas Willickes baptizatus 22 July.
  2. 1595 Balthasar filius Balthasari Willech baptizatus 27 July.
  3. 1598 Edwarardus filius Balthezeri Willech baptizatus 30 April.
  4. 1600 Susanna filia Balthezeri Willech sepulta 28 May.[3]

His son Edward married a Susanna and was father by her of a daughter Anna, baptized at Alford 13 May 1635.[4]

This is an interesting person, with strong links to Peregrine Bertie, Lord Willoughby. He even named his eldest son Peregrine. Amusing since this must have the same Latin root for "foreigner", and someone of this name certainly seems to be a foreigner to England and New England.

I think there is not any evidence for the parents attached here. In fact I wonder of they are a misdated duplicate of this BW and his wife. I am going to detach the parents pending some information.
