Biography

George Wilhite is a part of US Black heritage.

George Wilhite was born in 1916 in 1916 in Texas, the son of George A. and Mary Wilhite. His family left Bryan, Texas for Los Angeles in the 1920s.[1][2]

He married Yvonne Steward on 14 February 1936 in Santa Ana, California.[3] In 1940 the couple was living in Los Angeles. They had no children.[4] They separated before 1942: George's World War II enlistment indicates that he was separated, without dependents. He is listed as porter with 3 years of high school.[5]

He married Inez Vivian Berteaux on July 1, 1946 in Santa Ana, California.[6]

He married Rose Marie Rutledge, nee Featherston, on 29 November 1963 in Los Angeles.[7][8]

He died on 14 May 1987 in California. On the death index his name's mother is listed as Taylor (she was listed as Mary Gill on his second marriage, to Inez in 1946).[9]
