Birth

Mariah Eames Wilder was born at Dublin, New Hampshire, on 21 Dec 1828, the daughter of John Wilder and Harriet (Lakin) Wilder.^[1][2]

Marriage

Maria E. Wilder married the widower Harvey Washburn in New Hampshire on 29 Dec 1852, probably in Cheshire County.^[3][1]

In 1860, Harvey Washburn, 35, farmer, and Maria Washburn, 31, were living at Alstead, New Hampshire, with Harvey's orphaned nephew, Fred W. Lakin, 6, and Maria's mother, Harriet Wilder, 60.^[4]

In 1870, Harvey Washburn, 45, farmer, and Maria Washburn, 41, were living at Alstead with Fred W. Lakin, recorded (incorrectly) as 10.^[5]

In 1880, Harvey Washburn, 54, farmer, and his wife Maria E. Washburn, 51, were living at Alstead with their daughter, Lora E. Washburn, 9, and Harvey's nephew George A. Lakin, 33, boarder and farmer.^[6]

Death

Mariah E. (Wilder) Washburn died from hepatitis or jaundice at Fitchburg, Massachusetts, on 29 Apr 1904, with her age at her death recorded as 75 years, 4 months, 8 days.^[2] Her gravestone at the Maple Side Cemetery in Alstead, New Hampshire, is inscribed with the dates 21 Dec 1828 and 29 Apr 1904.^[7]
