Biography

Abigail was the daughter of Capt. Asaph Whittlesey, who was killed in the massacre of Wyoming (PA). Her father put her and her nurse on a raft and sent her down the Susquehanna River to avoid the upcoming fight with the Iroquois Indians.

Two of Abigail's sisters also married Camp men.

Abigail married twice. She married first William Camp. When he died, she married his law partner, Stephen Strong.
