Biography

The will of Edward Gaither dated 6 Mar 1777 Indicates the disposition of those he had enslaved. Two, a man Tom and a woman Moll are bequeathed to his wife. All others are bequeathed to his daughters, Eleanor, Sarah, Cassandra, and Lyla Gaither. This said will was proved on 11 Jun 1777.
