I am a direct descendant of Francis Marion Whitten, he was not know as a Faires, however he did marry at one time a Margaret A. Faires 21 Nov 1851 Lauderdale, Alabama, USA but I do not believe that marriage lasted or she passed away shortly after the marriage. In 1858 either in Tennessee (possibly Texas) he married his cousin Nancy Isabelle Whitten (18381913) both are my great great grandparents. Both are buried in Texas along with our grandparents. Their daughter Nancy Hair Whitten married Mallory Joshua Barnes my grandparents. I believe you have been DNA tested and have Whitten DNA through your mother and grand parents which will make us cousins.
