Doris (Whitten) Tuttle was born in Massachusetts.

Birth and Parents

Doris, the youngest of four children of James Whitten and Hannah Cox was born on 17 February 1894 at Arlington, Massachusetts.^[1]

According to the 1920 Census, Doris (25 years, b. MA, single, occupation Bookkeeper) was living with her parents, James and "Jennie" at Arlington, Massachusetts.^[2]It is not known if Doris married or had children.

Marriage and Children

Doris married as his second wife Arthur E. Tuttle (1876-1949), the son of John M. and Mary (Hicks) Tuttle on 28 May 1924 at Groveton, New Hampshire.^[3]They had one son born at Lancaster, New Hampshire:

1. Arthur Eugene Tuttle Jr. (b. 11 Aug 1924; d. 25 Jan 1983, Coos, NH) m. Beatrice Mae Scott (1919-2019)

Death and Burial

Doris Irene Symonds (Whitten) Tuttle died on 26 September 1925 in her 31st year at Lancaster, and is buried in Hillside Cemetery at Jefferson, Coos, New Hampshire.^[4]
