Biography

Sarah was born in 1857 in Mississippi.^[1] She was the daughter of William Whitten and Ann Carter. She passed away in 1922 in Arkansas.^[2]

Sallie was married on 26 Oct 1880 to J. Edgar Mitchell who is said to have left to take a bale of cotton to Batesville from Evening Shade and was never heard from again. Sallie remarried on 26 Nov 1884 to James E. Wood, by whom she had one son.^[3]
