Biography

Supposedly "sold at Public Auction in 1788."^[1]"Did you ever find out anything else on our Whittens? I suspect that Elisha and Ebenezer were possible sons of John and Sarah (Hodgdon) Whitten who were married in 1767 in Scarborough. John was in the Revolution and may have died in the 1780s. The man who bought the brothers. may have been Nathaniel or William JOSE of Scarborough. There may have been another brother named Benjamin who was born in Scarborough in 1784. Richard Whitten, a possible uncle of the boy was a revolutionary soldier and married MERCY JOSE."^[2]

• "Ebenezer Whitten, Jr.", "...in Capt. R. Thompson's Company, Lieut. Col. J. Commings' Regiment. From Sept. 3 to Sept. 20, 1814. Raised at Montville. Service at Belfast." ^[3] On the various forums people are looking for the boy, sold at auction with his brother, are looking for the parents of these kids. IF this Ebeneezer is the same Ebeneezer then you would think since he is a "Jr." then his father would be Ebeneezer Whitten, Sr.
