Claud Milton Whitesides was born on Sep. 1, 1919 in Spartanburg County, the son of James "Fletcher" Whitesides and Mattie Brown.
He served as a S Sgt US Army World War II. He enlisted on February 2, 1942 at Fort Jackson in Columbia, South Carolina for the duration of the war. [1]
Claud married Helen Lenora Whitesides, daughter of Weldon Lancaster and Ruth Johnson Lancaster. They had three children:
Claud died on Apr. 10, 1997 in Floyd County, Indiana. He was buried at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park in New Albany, Floyd County, Indiana, USA.[2]
