Biography

Catherine was born about 1830. She was murdered by her husband in 1859:^[1]

We learn by telegraph from Grand Falls (Victoria Co.) that on Friday last David Blaney murdered his wife there in a most cruel manner. After having beaten her severely, he resorted to other means which are too horrible for publication. She survived just long enough to give her evidence. We are informed that the brute also threw his young child out the window and up to the latest date it was still lying in convulsions. It is said that Blaney was laboring under a fit of delirium tremens, but the coroner's inquest found him guilty of wilful murder and he has been arrested and committed to jail to take his trial for the crime.
