Hugh was married twice. His first wife was Margaret Allison, daughter of John & Ann Allison. His second wife was Charlotte Weitzel White, daughter of John and Tabitha (Morris) Weitzel, and widow of James White.[2]
Hugh White served in the American Revolution. He was a captain in the Pennsylvania line from 19 April 1775 until 1778, when he was promoted to colonel.[3][4][5]
Colonel Lieut Hugh White died in 1822 by being thrown from his horse and was buried in Porter Township, Pennsylvania.[6] Hugh White was mentioned on a memorial in Pine Creek Cemetery, Jersey Shore, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania, United States with a death date of 1822.[7]
