Biography

I am willing to help with the following research in my area:

Research and Obituaries from the St. Louis County Library. Research and courthouse visits in the surrounding counties of St. Louis. Grave research and photos for the surrounding St. Louis area.

Surrounding counties include Franklin, Jefferson, St. Charles, Warren...ask and I can head out a little further into Missouri or Illinois but it may take a little longer to get the info back to you...gotta wait for a day off lol!

I'd also love to help figure out a relationship via DNA and can help with Gedmatch.

Hello again!

This week we have your last stop on the guided tour. We want to give you just a few more tools that can take you even deeper into the WikiTree forest without getting lost: How to Dig a Little Deeper.

As always, your questions are welcome!

Hi!

You've probably been hard at work adding family members and getting connected to those that are already here. You should have at least a few profiles that you manage now. So, this week we're going to look at how to work with your Watchlist: How to Manage Your Watchlist.

Please let me know if you have any questions! I am happy to help!

Vicky Majewski ~ WikiTree Mentor

Stephanie--

You've been here for three weeks now! We hope your profiles are starting to come together and that you've enjoyed getting to know all of us a little better. You're probably getting a good feel for the collaborative nature of WikiTree by now. We know that collaboration isn't always easy. So, we've put together a few pointers that can make working in this type of environment a little easier: How to be a Successful WikiTreer. As always, your questions are welcome!

Hi!

It's time for the next stop on your guided tour. This time, we'd like to introduce you to our community, show you some ways to get more involved, and recommend some ways to stay up-to-date on everything that's going on: How to Join in the Community.

If you have questions, use the "reply on" link under any comment to get to that volunteer's profile page. From there, scroll down to public comments in the right column and leave a message. Any one of us would be happy to help.

Stephanie --

You've been here a week now, and we hope you enjoyed your first stop on your guided tour of WikiTree and were able to make good use of the things you learned.

Our next stop will give you some pointers on how to make your profiles stand out: How to Make the Most of a Profile.

As always, your questions are welcome!

Hi Stephanie,

Thank you for the message!

I have found many variations in the spelling of the surname Selman, most of my ancestors as far back as the 1500's originated in Europe / England. Other spellings can be found in many other countries.

Hope you eventually find a connection to the surname Selmeir and your 4th cousin.

Thanks for volunteering, Stephanie! You are now a full member of the WikiTree community. Once you sign the Honor Code, you may start adding profiles.

Since WikiTree is different from other genealogy sites, we have a guided tour to help new members learn their way around. The first stop is How to Start Climbing Our Tree. Tomorrow, a Mentor will check in to see how you're doing and answer your questions. You'll get a message about the next stop on your tour next week.

To meet other WikiTreers, check out our G2G forum. Here's the G2G Question of the Week: What traits do you see being passed through your family?

Enjoy!

Hello Stephanie, welcome to WikiTree!

The email we just sent has helpful links to get you started.

WikiTree is different because our goal is to have one profile per person, and that means we share ancestors and work together as a BIG collaborative team!

What brings you to WikiTree? Do you have research you’d like to share? Are you interested in how your family fits into the big tree?

When you confirm your email address, you’ll be given an opportunity to volunteer to help document our collective family history. Use the Tags and comments to tell us about your genealogical interests.

When you volunteer, one of our Greeters will confirm your membership. Then you'll be able to add your family to the tree!

We're really glad you're here!

Shirley
