I've just proposed a merge of two William Wedgewood profiles: Wedgewood-96 and Wedgwood-5. There's a discrepancy in surname spelling that needs to be resolved. The christening and marriage records on FamilySearch have the spelling as Wedgwood but this is your area, so I'll leave it to you to make the final decision.

It would be nice if there was a simple rule that Staffordshire Wedgwoods had no "e" and Yorkshire Wedgewoods all had the "e", but life is not that simple. A lot of my Yorkshire Wedgewood ancestors were illiterate, and registrars and census enumerators just did as they thought fit. There's no right answer.
Thank you for self-certifying for the Pre-1700 badge! Collaboration with Pre-1700 Project members is essential for those wishing to edit Pre-1700 profiles because those ancestors are usually shared by many descendants.
You have made a good start on collaboration with your question about John Wedgewood. I would recommend reviewing the England Project pages to learn about resources and guidelines as well as other ways to collaborate.
Do you have any questions? Let me know. I'm happy to help! :-)
