Biography

James Wheeldon was born at Marple in Cheshire, in about 1811. ^{[1] [2]}

James Wheeldon (bachelor, aged 27), a farmer, of Claydon, son of Henry Wheeldon, farmer; and Hannah Maria Astell (spinster, aged 17), of Claydon, daughter of John Astell, farmer; were married at the parish church of Claydon in Oxfordshire on 13 July 1841. The witnesses were called William Astell and Elizabeth Astell. ^[1]

In 1851 James Wheeldon was living at Claydon with his wife Maria and their children. His age was given as 39, implying a birth date in 1811 or 1812. His birthplace was given as Marple, Cheshire. He was a landed proprietor. ^[2]

In 1861 James was living at Claydon with his wife Hannah M. and their children. His age was given as 49, implying a birth date in 1811 or 1812. His birthplace was given as Marple, Cheshire. He was a retired farmer. ^[3]
