Based on the date of his marriage, Balfour Westwater would have been born around 1783.

Balfour Westwater married Christian Litster in the parish of Wemyss, Fife on 27 November 1808.^[1]

The couple had four children baptised in the parish of Wemyss:

1. Balfour Westwater (baptised 30 June 1810)^[2]
2. Ann Westwater (baptised 15 November 1812)^[3]
3. James Westwater (baptised 24 October 1813)^[4]
4. Archibald Westwater (baptised 6 December 1816)^[5]

Balfour Westwater appears to have lived until after 6 June 1841 when he appears in the census returns for Wemyss, Fife with his daughter Ann and her children.^[6]
