Poppo von Weimar, succeeded as Markgraf von Krain und Istrien (Marchesi di Carniola et Istria in Italian) in 1012, through the rights of his wife.[1]; [2]
It is possible that he is also the same man who is cited in charters dated 30 December 1014 and 25 February 1015, but as he is not named by his title but only as the brother of Wilhelm Comes these could refer to two other brothers named Wilhelm and Poppo. Poppo died on 13 July of a year unknown, but before 1044.[1]

It's possible that Poppo, has a nephew named Poppo. the brother of Wilhelm and Otto, and the two men have become confused. Or the author of the Annalista Saxo, has combined Wilhelm II and Wilhelm III into one man.[4]
