Biography

Sergeant Joel Weed served with 9th Regiment, Connecticut Militia during the American Revolution.

Joel Weed was born on 29 Aug 1742 in Stamford, Connecticut to Samuel Weed and Rebecca Hoyt.

He married firstly Deborah Stevens on 22 Mar 1764 in Stamford, Connecticut.

Children: Asahel, William, Samuel Jr., Prudence, Ezekiel.

After Deborah died in 1776, he married secondly Elizabeth Hoyt about 1781.

Children: Cary, Noah, Anson, Rufus, Henry.

He died on 6 Sep 1816 in Darien, Fairfield, Connecticut.

Joel served as a Sergeant during the Revolutionary War in the 1st Company 9th Infantry, (Regiment) Connecticut Militia. Capt Nat.
