Biography

Amanda was a Civil War Nurse.

Amanda was born in Indiana during 1828 to Matthew Way and Hannah Martin. She served as a nurse during the US Civil War. Later she was an important figure in the temperance movement. Miss Way is believed not to have married, nor did she have any children. She passed away in 1914.
