John, son of John Watson & Eleonora Henderson, was born on 29 January 1856 in Fraserburgh, Aberdeen, Scotland.^[1][2]

In the 1861 census John (age 5), Shoemakers Son, was the visitor of Alexander Henderson in Greens, Strichen, Aberdeenshire.^[3]
