Thomas Watson (later Watson-Wentworth) was born in 17 Jun 1665 at Wentworth Woodhouse, Yorkshire, England.
He was the 3rd son of Edward Watson 2nd Baron Rockingham (1630-1689) and Lady Anne Wentworth who was the only daughter of Lord Thomas Wentworth, 1st Earl of Strafford (1593-1641).
Lady Anne Wentworth was also heiress of her childless brother, William Wentworth (1626-1695) of Wentworth Woodhouse.

Bossiney March-Nov., 1701, Higham Ferrers (Nov.) 1703-13, Malton 1713-22, Higham Ferrers 1722-3; died at Harrowden 6 Oct., 1723, buried in York Minster. ^[1]

Marriage

On 18 July 1689 Thomas Watson-Wentworth married Hon. Alice Proby, a daughter and heiress of Sir Thomas Proby, 1st Baronet. They had only one child.

Death

Thomas Watson-Wentworth passed away in 1723 at Harrowden, Northamptonshire, England on 6 October 1723 and was buried in York Minster on 18 Oct 1723 where his elaborate monument with standing marble effigy survives. ^[2]
