Born in Cathcart, near Glasgow, on the 24th August 1873, Malcolm Watson was the son of George Watson, a Commercial Traveller. After an education at Glasgow High School, Malcolm first matriculated at the University of Glasgow in the summer of 1890 at the age of 16. He signed up to study Botany, Practical Botany and Anatomy and so began his medical career.
Sir Malcolm Watson, pioneer of Malaria control in Malaya, graduated MBCM (July 25 1895)
Malcolm would study the typical medical subjects like Surgery, Pathology, Materia Medica and Midwifery but in his final year, 1894-95, he would find time to squeeze in the study of English Literature also. Continues.... [1]

The engagement is announced of Sir Malcolm Watson, director of the Ross Institute of Tropical Hygiene, and Constance Evelyn Loring, Sir Malcolm has several times received the thanks of the government of the Federated Malay States for his Anti-Malarial work. His fiancée has been his assistant in his researches. Sir Malcolm was knighted in 1924. Sir Malcolm Watson and his fiancée at Sir Malcolm’s home at Wimbledon, on March 9, 1938. 1913 Immigration
On the 25th March Malcolm Watson boarded the SS Mongolia at Hong Kong, destined for London, which called at Honolulu[6](the date is unclear) and then at San Francisco, California, United States arriving at that port on the 22nd April, 1913.[7]
1924 Knighted
Malcolm Watson was knighted in 1924 for his services in Malaya.[1]
1948 Immigration
On the 30th April, 1948 Sir Malcolm and Lady Constance boarded the SS Queen Mary for a trip to New York, New York, United States.[8]
