John Watkins inherited family land in 1744 and, in 1784, that land was sold by the "executors of the estate of John Watkins of Buckingham County. Buckingham is a 'burned record county' but in 1859 a man wrote from that county to a kinsman that he had found in Buckingham Co Court the will of John Watkins made 8 Feb 1768, submitted to record 9 Mar 1768. The wife was mentioned but not named. Sons: John, Robert Bolling, Fleming, and Lewis. It referred to a will of David Watkins of Henrico Co."[1]
