Australian Cricketer, leg spinner, and considered one of the greatest bowlers in history. In 2005, he was the first bowler to take more than 600 Test wickets. He was voted as one of the five Wisden Cricketers of the Century [1]
Some awards he received include the Australian Sports Medal, the Centenary Medal, and the Australian Cricket Hall of Fame in 2012
Shane played International Test Cricket from 1992, retiring in 2007. During his career, he also played for the Victorian Bushrangers cricket team (now known as simply Victoria cricket team), the Hampshire County Cricket Club, the Rajasthan Royals, and Melbourne Stars.
Shane was born in 1969 at Upper Ferntree Gully, near Melbourne, Victoria. His parents were Keith Warne and Bridgette. He was married to Simone Callahan, prior to their divorce in 2005, and he has three children.
He died suddenly in 2022, at the age of 52 of a suspected heart attack.
