Emma Dewhurst Ward (married names Pendrich, then Hill) was born in 1837 in Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, England, daughter of Mary (Highfield) Ward and John Ward.^[1]

She married William Ronaldson Pendrich on 2 January 1854 in Saint Kilda, Victoria, Australia.^[2] Their children were:^{[citation needed]}
