Biography

Edward Walton was born about 1746 in Cumberland, Virginia to parents Thomas Walton and Martha Cox. [1]

He married Nancy Ann Murray before 1757.[1]

Children: Sallie, Judith, Thomas M, Sarah, Patsy, Susanna, Phoebe Ann. He died in Oct 1807 in Cumberland, Virginia.

Edward George Walton (Walton-12154) is probably not the son of this Edward. He was added through a merger.

In the 1782 Virginia Census Edward is in Cumberland. There are also men named Edward Walton in Mecklenburg and Hanover in that year.

Walton Sr-1 and Walton-1835 appear to represent the same person because: Estimated birth year only one year difference, birth location the same, wife is the same on both profiles, death date basically the same. The indicated parents did not have two sons born about the same time and both named Edward.

Edward Walton is my 8th great grandfather on my mother’s side. Her maiden name is Squires. We are related to Edward through her grandmother‘s familial line - Sadie Ferguson.
