Biography

Private Ashbel Waller served with 2nd Connecticut Regiment (1777), Continental Army during the American Revolution.

Ashbel Waller is a DAR Patriot Ancestor, A215970.

Ashbel Waller was born on 18 Oct 1759 at Cornwall, Litchfield, Connecticut Colony.^[1] He was a son of Phineas Walker and Rhoda (Taylor) Walker.^[2]

During the American Revolution, he was living in Dunberry, Connecticut, and served for two months in 1778 as a Teamster. Then, in 1779, he served as a Private under Captain Betts, in Colonel Sherman's 2nd Connecticut Regiment.^[3] He was allowed a pension for his service.^[4][5][6]

On 1 Nov 1781, he married [[Abbott-6300|Sarah Abbott, at Cornwall, Connecticut.^[7]

According to DAR records, Ashbel was married twice more, after the death of Sarah Abbott. His second and third wives were:^[1]

On 18 Sep 1848, Ashbel wrote his last will and testament, naming the following children: Ruth Thompson, Hannah Myer, Sena Moore, Alvy Waller, Salmon Waller, and a granddaughter Ruth Osborn.^[8]

Ashbel Waller passed away on 20 Sep 1848 in Butler County, Ohio.^[1]
