Benjamin Franklin Wagner was born November 30, 1843 to Benjamin Wagner and Amanda Borland in Dadeville, Alabama.

SGT. Benjamin F. Wagner served in the 28th Georgia Infantry, Company H. He was wounded at Gettysburg, and his unit was captured. Later they were exchanged and he immediately enlisted as sergeant in company I, 1st Alabama Infantry and was mustered out in 1865.[1] Then he moved to Texas where he served in the Texas Rangers and assisted in stopping the Doolin-Dalton Gang. Afterwards he resigned to spend more time at home.

He died, at the age of 91, on February 28, 1925 in Abilene, Texas.[2] He is buried at the Indian Creek Cemetery, Comanche, Comanche County, Texas.[3]

Sgt.Wagner served honorably with company H,28th Georgia Infantry regiment. He was wounded in the leg at Gettysburg,and taken prisoner. After a few months he was exchanged,then went on to serve with the 1st Alabama Infantry. After the war,he lived out the remainder of his life in Texas.
