Biography

Age 95, the son of the late William Wade Waddy and Julia Blackford Waddy.

He was a graduate of Shepherd College, Shepherdstown, W.Va., and a retired special agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI), retiring after 22 years of service. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps, serving in World War II and attaining the rank of major. He was a member of St. Mark's Episcopal Church, Lappans, Md., where he served as an usher and lector.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Naomi Thompson Waddy, in 1994 and a sister, Pauline Waddy Hartman.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Bopst Waddy; a daughter, Anne B. Figel of Valrico, Fla.; two sons, Paul J. Waddy of South Bend, Ind., and Richard Lane Waddy of Walkersville, Md.; four stepsons; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. ^[1]
