Isabella Marshall Virtue (married name Brown) was born on 13 April 1881 in Paisley, Renfrewshire, Scotland, the daughter of Barbara Smith and William Virtue.^[1]

She married Alexander Allan Brown on 27 December 1907 in Glasgow, Scotland.^[2] Their children were:
