John Brinsden McCutcheon Vasey was born in 1893 at Malvern East, Victoria, Australia. He was the second child and son of George Vasey and Alice McCutcheon.[1]
He enlisted in the Australian Imperial Force on 21st August 1914 for service overseas during The Great War.[2] He was a junior non-commissioned officer in the 2nd Field Company, Australian Engineers, serving at Gallipoli.[3]John Vasey died of wounds on 14th August 1915. He is buried in Pieta Military Cemetery, Tal-Pieta, Malta and his name is located at panel 25 in the Commemorative Area at the Australian War Memorial, Canberra.[4]
