Retired USN, Pensacola Junior College
Born and raised in El Reno, OK. Population 14,000. No A/C, no TV, no MacDonald's, no malls. Raised on Sir and Ma'am. Baptized in 1952.
Enlisted in the USN after one year at Oklahoma State University. I did not want to be what my father insisted I be: a draftsman. Joined the National Rifle Association at my first duty station in 1960. Life Member.
Viet-Nam Veteran . . . Saigon . . . Chu-Lai . . . Danang . . . Yankee Station.
I speak aviation. Met my first wife while attending school at NATTC, Naval Station Millington, TN. She produced two fine children for me before I divorced her and left the three of them behind in Agana, Guam
Met my second wife while I was a Navy Recruiter. She was a mental, moral, and physical reject so I had to marry her. Best decision I ever made.
Retired USN in '89. Aviation Electronics. Mostly Western Pacific. Japan, Midway Island, Hawaii. Mostly Guam. Retired PJC staff in '98. Computer repair. Loved the community and the product.
Started riding Gold Wings in '98. Currently 144,000 accident free miles. Longest ride: Pensacola to San Diego and return (4,002 miles, 11 days). Best ride: Natchez Trace; Natchez, MS to Nashville, TN. Most challenging ride: I-10 across the unimproved highways of Louisiana, in the summer, during love-bug season.
Foster home for Basset Hounds (past tense). Fostered 24 and kept 2. Dearly loved all but one, a Bagel (Beagle-Basset). No more stubborn dawg exists, and they are convinced.
Got interested in genealogy about four years ago. Spent lots of money learning the hard way. Families: Varnell, Womack, Scott, Merritt. Hit my first wall 2 years ago; hurdled it 2 weeks ago. An aquantance in Kentucky (a historian) and I (the genealogist) have the greatest genealogy story ever told and I don't know what to do with it. Looking forward to many happy years with WikiTrees.

Starting back in February, I sent you a number of requests to be added to the trusted list of some of my Scott and Provine ancestors. I also sent you a private message on 12 May 2020. I haven't heard anything back yet, so I figured I would try this route.
I'm sure you are busy with other projects, but I'd appreciate it if you could take a few minutes to deal with this.
Thank you, Bill Horder
It has been a couple of weeks since we contacted you about your participation in the Southern Colonies Project. As we haven't heard from you, we are following up to make sure you wish to remain a member.
We understand that interests shift as we grow our shared tree and that some members may have moved on to projects more pertinent to their ancestors. If this is the case for you, please let us know.
If we do not hear back from you within the week, we will assume you have moved on to other things for the moment and remove you from the project. Please know that you will always be welcome to rejoin should your interests shift back in this direction.
Thank you so much for your participation; we genuinely appreciate it.

On behalf of the US Southern Colonies Project Leaders, I am doing a six-month check-in with members to see if you were Active in US Southern Colonies?
1) Have you joined other Southern Colonies Subprojects, such as Southern_Pioneers Project. Or other projects?
2) Your activity in Southern Pioneers Project. Do you want to retain the Southern Colonies badge?
I look forward to hearing from you.

Thank you for setting this up for me. It will take a few days to learn how to use this new website, but I am excited that there are so many connections. Stay tuned, and thanks bunches! Sue Anne Scott Ramsey
I dropped you a line a couple of days ago about the parentage of Margaret Elizabeth Cox [Cox-13396], which I think has been altered by mistake. I'm going to revert it to the old values, which match the christening record. Do please get in touch with me if you have sources that indicate to the contrary.
Regards,
Chris.
