Biography

Gerrat was born to Jan van Wagenen and his wife Gritien Lau. He was baptized 1766 June 3rd by Domine Gerhard Daniel Cock, of the Camp, with his grandparents, Gerrat Van Wagenen and Marytien Freer, as witnesses [1].
Gerrit was married 1793 August 18th by Ab van Horne to Sarah Schoonmaker [2]. Their children are John [3], Maria [4], Jakamynje [5], Jacob Schoonmacker [6], and Margrietje [7].
On 1797 November 17th Gerrit joined the Dutch Reformed Church congregation in Wawarsing under Gerrit Mandeville V D M. [8]. On 1842 May 25th Gerret appears on the congregation roster of James Demarest Sr., but is also noted as deceased 1843 January [9].
