Biography

Jochem Englebert Van Naame was born in Heusden, Holland. [1] He emigrated to New Amsterdam on 08 April 1662 and lived there for several years until he moved up the Hudson River to Esopus, New York. [2] [3] He married Lysbert Pels on 03 Nov 1678 [2] , but another source suggested the year may have been 1676 (see image 1 of marriage record found [4]).

Their son Johannes was baptized 08 Oct 1682 in the Dutch Church at Kingston, New York.[5] On 02 Sept 1683 their son Evert was baptized in the Dutch Church at Kingston, New York.[6] On 06 Nov 1687 their daughter Annetje was baptised.[7] A son Johannes was baptized on 23 Apr 1693. [8] A son Jenneke was baptized on 17 Mar 1700. [9] A daughter Marytje was baptized on 22 Mar 1701.[10]
