Hello Nancy,

Thanks for taking the Pre-1700 Quiz!

Because pre-1700 ancestors are shared by many descendants, working within the projects which coordinate them is essential.

Use the Pre-1700 Projects list to find one which best fits your research focus, whether time period, location, or topic. Read the goals and tasks of the project and join if it is a good fit.

Add the project tag to your Following list to be kept up to date on any activity that occurs for that project.

Can't find what you're looking for? Let me know, and I can make some suggestions! :-)

Hello,

I am a WikiTree DNA Project Volunteer Helper. I wanted to let you know that when you post DNA test information on a WikiTree profile, WikiTree needs to be able to see the profile Family Tree Tab (top of WikiTree Profile) to make DNA connections down the ancestral lines.

I would like to suggest that you consider changing the privacy level on this profile and all of the ancestors to be at a level that allows everyone to see the Family Tree tab. Click the "Privacy" tab and set your level to "Private with public tree" or "Private with public biography and tree". For further information on the available Privacy levels needed to facilitate this, please see: Wikitree privacy controls

Thank you, Meghan

Hi Nancy! Congratulations, you've been a WikiTree member for a month! We're glad you're here. A few tips to help you dive in even deeper:

Check out Beyond the Basics of WikiTree for a guide on some of our more advanced features such as projects, categories, and merging.

We're very active on our social sites and we have an excellent blog where you'll find our monthly newsletter as well as tips, interviews with our members, and guest posts from others in the genealogy community.

And we're always looking for volunteers to assist in different ways.

As always, I'm here to help if you have any questions!

Hi Nancy, Thank you for volunteering to help grow our World Wide Family Tree.

You are now a member of the WikiTree Community. Please note we are trying to build one Collaborative Tree which means one profile per person. It is important to ensure no duplicates are entered as you add any Profiles to WikiTree.

Everything on WikiTree is a collaborative work in progress so don’t forget to read and sign our Honor Code. This is what keeps WikiTree a friendly and helpful community. We have many friendly members, feel free to ask if you have any questions.

Hi Nancy,

Welcome! I saw that you've "Volunteered" to be a part of WikiTree. Before your membership can be confirmed, you will first need to change your Privacy setting to any other than Unlisted, which is reserved for children under 13, and not appropriate for Profile Managers. Thanks! tami, WikiTree Community Assistant

I've done a lot of genealogical work in the past & have become reengaged in it. I agree with the mission of the organization and the nine rules.
